LOS ANGELES FASHIONISTA IS INSPIRED TO OFFER FREE JEANS TO JOB SEEKERS

LOS ANGELES, CA - April 17, 2009 - Los Angeles based denim maker, !iT Jeans, is providing hope that America can get through these challenging times by giving the gift of style. Partnering with PinkSlipMixers.com, a grass-roots organization of unemployed professionals that provides unique “pink slip party” networking events, !iT Jeans will expand their G.I.F.T. Movement. This initiative, “Survival of the Fittest,” will provide free jeans to participants of select job networking events. The first free-jean-give-away event will be April 27, 2009 at the Palomar Hotel in Westwood, CA.

While the G.I.F.T Movement’s core focus are young professionals, Kimmy Song, CEO of !iT Jeans, states, “ The challenge of these economic times led us to expand our objective by helping those in the larger community that are losing jobs. We hope to ease the pain of unemployment and diminished savings by providing a boost to the confidence of our communites. We feel it is the right thing to do and will inspire other like-minded companies to follow suit.”

The PinkSlipMixers.com event is more than the typical pink slip party, a popular and growing trend around the country. Job seekers at PinkSlipMixer events utilize online social media to “Twitter” career criteria along with their Linkedin.com resume in hopes of maximizing their job search exposure. Edwin Duterte, the creator of PinkSlipMixers.com, explains, “We appreciate the efforts of !iT Jeans and to “Pay It Forward” to them, our members will be Twittering and sharing the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ and the G.I.F.T. Movement with others.
