LOS ANGELES, CA – June 22, 2009–Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 (www.Pink Slip Mixers 2.0), a grass-roots organization that supports unemployed professionals by offering unique "pink slip party" networking events and RezBuzz (www.rezbuzz.com), a brand new social networking site that brings together members via the power of video resumes, are coming together on Monday, June 22, 2009 to offer a great job search mixer event at the Palomar Hotel (10740 Wilshire Blvd.) in the heart of Los Angeles. Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 guests will get the chance to win a full video resume production and have a video shot right at the event as well as learn to create a profile on RezBuzz.com and shoot a short their own video resume via anyone of the computers and webcams that will be at the event.

Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 is a unique "pink slip party" job networking event. Guests "Pay it Forward" by exchanging job search tips, forwarding job postings, “Tweeting” about things they talk about and hear in the crowd (Twitter Feeds are broadcasted live during the event) and just simply encouraging other job seekers through the recession. Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 events are currently in California and in Florida and will be expanding to at least 10 metropolitan cities in the United States. The Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 event is more than the typical pink slip party, a popular and growing trend around the country. Party guests also utilize social media tools including Twitter to “Tweet” their job search and career criteria along with the link to their Linked In profile in hopes of maximizing their job search exposure. Now with RezBuzz and a Video Resume Production venue in the mix, Edwin Duterte, is excited to see what more can be done to support job seekers to increase exposure to new hiring possibilities. “Video Branding is the most powerful form of online media offered today,” said Mark Sadovnick, RezBuzz CEO and of Sadovnick Partners Executive Search who was named one of the “Most Influential Headhunters in the World” by Business Week Magazine in November 2008. “Online video is the future of resume distribution and networking in the workforce, if produced responsibly and professionally.”
There will be a video screen that will project guest Twitter Feeds as well as the Video Resumes that will be shot by the RezBuzz production crew on site. As guests walk in the door they will also receive a raffle ticket to win a premium video resume production (a $2500 value) as well as be able to be taped on site at the event by RezBuzz or shoot a webcam video at one of the computers set up at the event. Guests will also be able to create an online profile on RezBuzz.com and have their video resume uploaded. Party goers will Tweet what other guests are looking for professionally and what recruiters attending want in a candidate. For instance, a job seeker talking to a hiring manager might Tweet (which is done via cell phone): “Recruiter Jon wearing the striped shirt is looking for a Product Manager.” Another Guest might Tweet: “Check out Sally Smith’s new Video Resume on her new RezBuzz.com Profile – here’s the link. Sally’s wearing a bright green shirt.” Guests in the mixer will see people being featured on the video screen and hopefully go on to connect "in person" at the party to discuss a possible opportunities or the knowledge of one.
"We want to have our professional guests interact with one another and more importantly, make it personal for them," says Duterte. There will also be various industry tables where our guests can congregate and mingle with professionals specific to their job focus in addition to the RezBuzz video venue where guests can opt to have a video resume taped right there at the event or sign up to have one produced on location at Corp Shorts Video Productions in West Hollywood or at their home or other location. There will also be a '”speed career circuit' in which experts from various stations, such as resume critique, interview skills, etc., will offer free job search tips.
One thing to note is that Pink Slip Mixers 2.0 events are not job fairs. They are volunteer supported community events in which every member wants to participate in to help one another find work. “It is very exciting to have everyone helping each other in such a positive way,” says Duterte.
